At Transformation Salon in Prabhadevi, we are not just offering beauty services but also providing sustainable livelihood opportunities. This salon, a first in Mumbai to be run entirely by transgender individuals, is a result of extensive skills development.
Employees receive training in professional beauty treatments, empowering them to break away from traditional roles and build financial independence. This project, supported by Deutsche Bank and Rotary Club of Bombay, has integrated 15 transgender employees into the mainstream workforce.
The Trans Cafe in Andheri is an exemplar of how social entrepreneurship can redefine business models. Employing more than 10 transgender individuals, This café has served over 10,000 customers, challenging societal norms while generating revenue. In addition, Zainab Patel’s vision of opening 15 more cafes across India highlights how DEI principles can be scaled for national impact.
Through the Annapurna Community Kitchen, we provide 30 free meals per day to marginalized communities, including transgender persons and those living with HIV. This initiative goes beyond social welfare by employing community members, giving them both an income and professional skills.
